Brush every day. Use the Mayhem Hair Extension Brush provided by the salon. Hold the hair at the base, begin at the ends, and work upward toward the scalp.

Keep extensions hydrated. Use a styling cream and/or leave-in conditioner every time you wash.

Protect from heat. Use hot tools in moderation at medium heat and ALWAYS apply heat protectant.

Detangle before washing. Shampoo upright in warm water and pull shampoo from root to end. Do not rub extension strands between your palms and do not wash upside down.

Condition mid-shaft through ends. A masque may be used every wash. Finish with cool water, add hydration and heat protection before blow drying. Blow dry in sections. Brush from the ends up. Never blow-dry upside down.

Hair MUST be dry before bed. Sleep in a loose braid or braided pigtails. Do NOT sleep with wet hair, a messy bun, or a tight ponytail.

Braid before swimming. If the hair gets wet, rinse with cool water and use a masque or detangling spray. Do not pile wet extension hair into a messy bun.

Extension maintenance is required every 4–6 weeks, with timing determined by your stylist.

Going beyond six weeks can compromise the integrity of the natural hair and may require additional correction work, charged per hour.

Improper care causing standard appointments to take longer than the allocated time may also require additional correction work charged per hour OR an additional appointment to be booked to finish the service if the stylist does not have additional time to correct.

Joico Defy Damage Detox Shampoo can be used periodically to remove buildup, impurities, and residue that can dull color and affect how hair feels.

Use detox shampoo as directed by your stylist based on your styling-product use, water quality, and hair condition rather than automatically at every wash.

Lightened hair generally needs consistent hydration, gentle cleansing, heat protection, and reduced unnecessary heat exposure.

Use the Defy Damage system as your regular care routine unless your stylist recommends a different JOICO system for your specific blonde.

Air-dry when practical and always use Joico Heat Hero Heat Protectant Spray before hot-tool styling.

Use Joico Blonde Life Violet Shampoo and Conditioner when unwanted yellow tones begin to appear and when your stylist recommends it.

Violet toning does not need to be automatic after every fresh blonde appointment. Your stylist can help determine the right frequency so the blonde does not become cooler than intended.

Joico Color Balance Blue is intended to help neutralize unwanted orange or brassy tones in brunette or dimensional color. Use it when your stylist recommends it.

Protect the tone your stylist just created. Use your regular Defy Damage home-care routine and introduce violet toning only when unwanted yellow begins to return or when directed by your stylist.

Most washes: use Defy Damage Shampoo + Conditioner.

When buildup is noticeable: use Defy Damage Detox Shampoo as directed by your stylist.

When hair needs deeper care: use KBOND20 Masque or In A Flash Treatment.

When tone needs correcting: use the appropriate violet or blue toning product as directed by your stylist.

Every heat-styling day: apply Heat Hero Heat Protectant Spray before heat.
